India 2012 - National Workshop on Computational Biology - ICIBS, Maharashtra

Biological Sciences is growing leaps and bounds today. To keep pace with the extensive data generated, it is imperative to design intelligent systems which would aid in deriving inferential knowledge. Bioinformatics plays a key role in helping researchers to analyze and simulate this enormous amount of information, in-silico. One of the pioneers in the field of Bioinformatics, Dr. Margaret Oakley Dayhoff, played a pivotal role in areas of creating Computerized Protein and DNA Sequence Databases. As a mark of respect to her contributions in the field of Bioinformatics, JauGanak – Bioinformatics Community, Department of Biotechnology and Bionformatics, Padmashreee Dr. D.Y. Patil University is celebrating “Bioinformatics Week” from 19-25 March, 2012 comprising of A Two Day National Seminar on “Intelligent Computing in Biological Sciences (ICIBS ‘12)” and A Five Day National Workshop on “Computational Biology”.
